After an extensive search process, the Board of Directors of the Lake Lure Classical Academy is delighted to announce the appointment of Thomas G. Keever as the school’s new Executive Director. The Executive Director will be instrumental by providing the instructional, operational, and administrative leadership necessary to ensure the success of the school.
Mr. Keever is a veteran educator with a background in international education, as well as the U.S. public school system. Mr. Keever has been a teacher and principal at schools in Venezuela, Syria, Chile, Myanmar and Poland. He has experience working with students and families internationally, and served as an assistant principal and principal in Buncombe County Schools. While he was principal at Valley Springs, Mr. Keever was recognized by his peers as Buncombe County Principal of the Year and, subsequently, was recognized as the Western Region Principal of the Year. After a successful three-year tenure at Enka Middle School, Mr. Keever retired from N.C. Public School service.
We know Mr. Keever’s diverse background in school leadership will be a great asset to Lake Lure Classical Academy. Through our interview and assessment process, he clearly showed his ability to be a strong leader; now we get to see his work in action. Mr. Keever will officially join LLCA on May 9, 2016.
