Lake Lure Classical Academy’s first ever homecoming

Lake Lure Classical Academy’s first ever homecoming came to life with the crowning of Queen Skyler Martinez, and her court of Sarah Scholls, Skyler Allen, and Morgan Plumley. These lovely ladies showed great character, and were voted on by the high school to represent the characteristics of honor, kindness, generosity, curiosity, courage, determination, and respectfulness.

Crowned on the 18th of November, the homecoming dance followed on that Friday- a bonfire on the beach, full of music, dancing, and warming up with the aid of the flames and hot drinks. Students jammed out to the greatest hits of a variety of years, wearing themselves out on the dancefloor. From songs you’d hear commonly on the radio, to the electric slide, students kept themselves moving, and continued enjoying the company of each other off of the dancefloor.

Thank you to our DJ, who provided entertainment with a wide variety of music(80’s, pop, and yes, even 60’s).

December 6th’s parade in Rutherfordton showed off these royal women, along with an LLCA float also decorated and ridden by our staff and students.

Congratulations to the queen and her court. Keep it up ladies!
